Surah Al Ikhlas is a short Surah of the Holy Quran. The Surah is short and very easy to recite. But the amount of reward is too much. One third of the recitation of the Qur'an is rewarded by reciting it just once. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wanted the Ummah to recite this Surah more and more. So he encouraged this surah in various ways. He told everyone to recite this surah especially at night.

Surah Ikhlas Benefits:
Abu Darda RA. Narrated,
- one day the Prophet said- A third of the Qur'an can be recited every night?The Companions said, We are weak. Reciting such a large amount of Quran every night is beyond our ability and difficult.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said,
- "The deed is very easy." Almighty Allah has divided the entire Quran into three parts and considered Surah Ikhlas as one of the three parts. Surah Ikhlas is one third of the Qur'an. -Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 5016; Musnad Ahmad, Hadith 11053
During the time of the Prophet (PBUH), a person used to recite only Surah Ikhlas “Qul Hu Wallahu Ahad” in the last night of Salat. The next morning a man came to the Prophet (PBUH) and said this.
Then the Prophet (PBUH) said:
- This Surah is equal to one-third of the entire Quran. (Bukhari 4645)
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated
- That the Messenger of Allah saw a man reciting Surah Ikhlas and said: 'It's confirmed'. Companions asked, what has been confirmed? The Prophet (PBUH) replied, Paradise is assured for him. (Musnad Ahmad 7669)
The Prophet (PBUH) said:
- "Whoever recites Surah Ikhlas ten times, Allah will build for him a palace in Paradise." (Sahih Jame Saghir 6472)
Umar ibn Khattab heard this. He said, then we will have many palaces.The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, "The gift of Allah, the Exalted, is more extensive and superior than this." -Musnad Ahmad, Hadith 15610
Narrated by Ayesha:
- Every night when the Prophet (PBUH) went to bed to sleep, he would put his palms together and recite Surah Ikhlas, Surah Nas and Surah Falak and blow on them. Then he would touch the body with both hands as far as possible. He used to start from the head, face and front part of the body. He did this three times. (Bukhari 4439)
Ubai ibn Ka'b narrates:
- Rasulullah (SAW) used to recite Surah Alaa, Surah Kafirun and Surah Ikhlas in Witr prayer. (Ibn Majah 1171)
