Surah Kafirun was revealed in Makkah and its number of verses is 6. The word al-kafirun means disbelievers. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite Surah Kafirun (Kul Ya Aiyuhal Kafirun) and Surah Ikhlas more and more in the Sunnah of Fajr prayer and in the Sunnah after Maghrib.
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Surah 'Qul Ya Ayuhal Kafirun' is one fourth of the Qur'an".

Benefits of reciting Surah Al Kafirun daily:
Surah Kafirun is a short surah with only six verses. It takes less than a minute to read. But the reward of reciting this surah is very high.
- Surah Kafirun was very important to Rasulullah (SAW). He used to recite this Surah in Sunnah prayers. He also recited it in the prayer after completing Tawaf of Baitullah.
- Narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA), Rasulullah (SAW) used to recite Surah Kafirun (Qul Ya Ayuhal Kafirun) and Surah Ikhlas (Qul Hu Wallahu Ahad) in the sunnah prayer of Fajr.

- Narrated by Ibn Umar (R.A.), it is mentioned in the hadith, Rasulullah (S.A.W.) used to recite Surah Kafirun and Surah Ikhlas in two rak'ahs of Fajr sunnah and two rak'ahs of Maghrib sunnah.

- Anas Ibn Malik (R.A.) said, Rasulullah (S.A.W.) said, "Whoever recites Qul Ya Ayyuhal Kafirun, he will have a reward equal to reciting one-fourth of the Qur'an."

- It is said in the hadith to recite this Surah before going to sleep at night. Farwa bin Nawfal (RA) narrates from his father, once the Prophet (PBUH) said to him, recite Surah Kafirun when you sleep. Because this Surah is the giver of freedom from Shirk.

- The Prophet said, "When you go to bed, recite Surah Kafirun (Qul Ya Ayyuhal Kafirun) because it contains the announcement of freedom from shirk."
